Made in the USA, this pewter is reproduced in antique molds. The earliest mold dates from 1720 while most range between 1800 - 1880. Each mold has it`s own character marks, from years of use. They are not considered flaws, but do show the age and history of the molds, which allow the pewter pcs. themselves to appear old and from that time period. These dents, rough spots and other variations show clearly that the piece is handcast.....and the pewter is 100 percent lead free and food safe so you can fully enjoy it.
This pewter, we offer to you, was featured in the movie, John Adams. Our pewter craftsman supplied over 500 pieces for this movie. From inkwells on the desks for the Continental Congress, to the ladles, bean bowls and other pewter props.

32-19 Pewter Inkwell
This beautiful pewter inkwell is cast from an old period mold. The center is removable. It will come with this feather and a package of powdered indigo ink, so that if you desire to actually use it, you have authentic powdered ink to use. Measures 3 1/4 in. wide x 2 1/4 in. tall. The feather is 15 in. tall.
This inkwell is cast in an original bronze mold that dates to c. 1760. The bottom is cast as a separate piece and is attached later. The removable well insert is spun on the lathe. It has 4 holes for quills, so the writer could continue his work without having to stop every few sentences and recut a quill. The quill holes also allow a quill to drain between uses.
A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY!!
